Maria Eduarda "Duda" Pinheiro is a successful top model. After being hired to model Covery brand clothes, she meets the Kundera brothers, Alex and Gaspar, owners of the company. Gaspar, a former beatnik, is over 40 but still practices surfing, lives in a beach-side house and raises five children: Elvis (named after Elvis Presley), Ringo (Starr), Jane (Fonda), Olívia (Newton-John) and (John) Lennon, all from different mothers who left them with him. Anastácia "Naná" Passos, Duda's friend and mentor, loves him platonically, and rivalizes with Mariza Borges over him. Alex by contrast is a yuppie. He and their mother Morgana have a love-hate relationship and rivalry with his brother over Morgana's attention and the company. Alex begins to love Duda, however she falls in love with Lucas, a graffiti artist who is on the run from the São Paulo police due to his involvement in a crime there. He is also searching for his real father, and thinks it's either Alex or Gaspar.
Asia's Next Top Model is a reality television show of Top Model Franchise, in which a number of women compete for the title of Asia's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry. The show will feature aspiring models from the entire Far East region, including South Asia subcontinent. The show was initially set to launch in mid-2012 on Ice-TV, after a deal was arranged with CBS for a Pan-Asian version. The casting process began in March 28, 2012 and was scheduled to end on May 5 of the same year. Later, the deadline was extended to May 21. The show was produced in Singapore. On April 11, it was publicly revealed that Nadya Hutagalung would take on the role of Head Judge and Host of the series. Fashion Director, Daniel Boey, Fashion Photographer, Todd Anthony Tyler, and model, Joey Mead King took secondary roles as judges. Around early October, STAR World and Channel 8 introduced the 14 finalists for season one, from 13 countries in South, Southeast and East Asia. The show was initially scheduled to premiere on November 4, 2012. However, the global premiere on STAR World was pushed back to November 25 due to monetary problems. The winner of the first cycle was 27 year old Jessica Amornkuldilok from Thailand.
Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model, often abbreviated as BNTM, BINTM, or Top Model, is a British reality television show in which a number of women compete for the title of Britain's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modelling industry. The first "cycle" premiered on 14 September 2005 on Sky Living. The winner normally receives a modelling contract, cosmetics campaign, and a spread within a fashion magazine which also includes appearing on the front cover. Other benefits which can change from cycle to cycle include a car, holiday, money, or an apartment among other things. As part of the Top Model franchise, it is based on the American television series America's Next Top Model. From series 7 onwards, the show has been renamed Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model as it has begun to include contestants from Ireland.
Australia's Next Top Model is an Australian reality television series, based on a franchise that was created by Tyra Banks with America's Next Top Model. It is produced by Granada Productions and broadcast on the Australian subscription television channel, FOX8. The series' objective is to find a promising but as-yet undiscovered Australian fashion Model and reward her with a platform to boost her chances of forging a successful career within the modelling industry. The series was last formerly hosted by Australian model Sarah Murdoch, who also served as lead judge and co-executive producer of the show for cycles five to seven. Jodhi Meares and Erika Heynatz also served as former hosts. An eighth cycle was confirmed for production and broadcast during 2013. Producers had to find a replacement host before production re-commenced. In April 2012 it was announced that the series would take a break for 2012 due to the fact that producers of the show were having trouble finding a replacement for Sarah Murdoch. It was announced on 19 November 2012 that beauty queen, model, and television personality Jennifer Hawkins was chosen as the new host for the ongoing eighth cycle.
Model Citizens is a reality television show which aired on PAX TV in 2004. Models travelled to different parts of the United States and worked on community projects such as building a basketball court or an aviary. The show was hosted by Larissa Meek of Average Joe: Hawaii, a model and former Miss Missouri USA and Miss USA contestant.
Model Behaviour is a British television reality show which aired on Channel 4 in 2001 and 2002. The show featured a search for a new model with the winner securing a year's contract with a top model agency. The programme was produced by Princess Productions and was similar in format to ITV's Popstars in that it followed the fortunes of several individuals as they lived together and competed for the top prize. The first series followed five women who had been picked from thousands of applicants. The second series followed both male and female potential models. The 2001 series was won by Jenny Richards, a young mother from south Wales who won a year's contract with the Premier agency. and went on to have a successful career as a catwalk model. The 2002 winners were South African Nathan Roberts, and Camilla Priest from Sunderland, who both won a year's contract with Select.
Top Model. Zostań modelką is an ongoing reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model that pits contestants from Poland against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win the title of the next Polish Top Model and a lucrative modeling contract with NEXT agency as well as an appearance on the cover of the Polish issue of Glamour and a nationwide Max Factor campaign in hopes of a successful future in the modeling business. The competition is hosted by Polish born supermodel Joanna Krupa who serves as the lead judge alongside fashion designer Dawid Woliński, journalist Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska and photographer Marcin Tyszka. It has also been confirmed that international topmodels Anja Rubik and Magdalena Mielcarz will make guest appearances and coaching the contestants in some episodes.
Benelux' Next Top Model is a Dutch reality television show aired in Flanders and the Netherlands. The show is Dutch writer and former top model Daphne Deckers. Despite the reference in the title to the Benelux, no Luxembourger or Walloon contestants are participating, nor is the program being broadcast in Luxembourg or Wallonia. The first cycle premiered in September 2009, and is based on the top-rated series America's Next Top Model with supermodel Tyra Banks.
Mega Model is a Nepalese reality television show in which a number of young Nepalese women compete against each other to win for the title of Mega Model and an opportunity to start their career in the modeling industry. The premiere is set to air on September 25, 2010 and the season finale in which the top 6 compete against each other on a stage is coming live on Image Channel. The winner of Mega Model wins a music video, a 6-page fashion editorial spread as well as the front cover in ECS Living Magazine and Rs100,000. The show's format was originally created by American talk-show host and model Tyra Banks. Mega Model has had 2 Model hosts to date. For Season 1, Pallavi Dhakal and currently, for Mega Model Season 2 is hosted by former model & beauty queen Sahana Bajracharya. Like its American version, Mega Model features a photographer and model on its judging panel, Raj Bhai Suwal, Sneh Rana and Sijan Bhattachan.
Model Latina is an American reality competition show, which aspiring models compete against one another in fashion and cultural challenges. They are judged by a panel of fashion experts and celebrities from the American Latino entertainment industry. Model Latina is the first modeling competition of its kind to feature Latinas from all over the U.S. The show airs on the cable network NuvoTV.
Hrvatski Top Model is a reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model and is aired on RTL. The show pits contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win title of the new Croatian Top Model as well as a modelling contract with an agency in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry. Croatian top-model Tatjana Jurić fills the host role of Tyra Banks in the original series as the head of the search as well as a mentor for the 16 girls that have been chosen to live in a house together in Zagreb. Together with the panel of judges which includes Borut Mihalić, Boris Bašić, Damir Hoyka and Boris Cavlina Jurić judges on the girls each week where usually one, but often two girls were eliminated until only 3 girls were left. Croatian Fashion Designer Marco Grubnic also had several appearances on the first Cycle to introduce the girls to the fashion industry and give them constructive criticism. After 14 weeks, Sabina Behlić was named the winner of the first Cycle beating Valentina Dropulić and Marina Jerković in the final. The show will return with a second Cycle in autumn 2010 with Vanja Rupena replacing Jurić.
Malta's Top Model is a Maltese reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model and is aired on Favourite Channel. The show places contestants against each other in a variety tests to determine who will win title of the new Maltese Top Model as well as a modeling contract with a small modeling agency and the front cover of a local magazine in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry. Claire Amato equals the role of Tyra Banks in the original series as the head of the search, and mentor for the chosen finalists during the competition. Other judges are casting director Alan J. "Jay" Darmanin and challenge organizer Jeff Francalanza. The show started with a casting recap after which 14 girls were chosen, however 14th contestant Maria immediately withdrew after the competition started. Each week the 13 girls that were living together on the same island faced challenges and a weekly photo shoot whereupon the judges chose to eliminate one girl per episode. In addition to this, the viewers could vote for their favorite girl every week per SMS. 17 year-old Audrienne Thaipend won the competition over 25 year-old old Sanaa Rizgalla. This version of the show is the second installment worldwide to feature a trans woman among its finalists after America's Next Top Model cycle 11 alumna Isis King. Each girl was supported by her own Maltese sponsor.
Holland's Next Top Model is a Dutch reality television show hosted by writer and former model Daphne Deckers, who also serves as the lead judge. The first "cycle" premiered in September 2006 and was one of RTL5's highest rated shows, which is based on the series America's Next Top Model with Tyra Banks. On July 24, 2012, RTL5 announced they would not broadcast a new season.
